Photos - Pilgrimage to India

Ayya Sudinna went to Sri Lanka on November 16th 2018 and returned to the Carolina Vihara on February 26th 2019. On February 2nd 2019, she went on a pilgrimage to India to visit the Holy Places sacred to Buddhists. A group of 23, including Ayya Sudinna's son and family, joined this trip. This is a pilgrimage that will cause "samvega" (a sense of urgency) to every Buddhist. Here are some photos of a few places we visited.

Bhikkhuni's 311-Precepts-Money-Trees (December 18, 2016)

SCB Vihāra was invited to join in a special Fundraising event on Sunday December 18/2016 in Lowell, Massachusetts termed "Bhikkhuni's 311-Precepts-Money-Trees" which was also the 5th anniversary celebration of "Vatta Khmer Lowell" and "Khmer - American Cultural Center".

Novice Ordination (April 16, 2016) at Karuna Vihara

Anagarika Cittananda was given novice ordination on April 16, 2016. Ayya Sudinna was the preceptor. Ayya Santussika was her teacher. Many bhikkhunis and lay-people participated in the ceremony.

Burmese Temple Pictures

These pictures were taken on a visit to a Burmese temple where Venerable UJothika is the abbot. Three bhikkhunis visited the temple.

Vesak Bhakti gee at Carolina Buddhist Vihara

A video of the Vesak Bhakti gee at the vihāra. This was the last event of the day. Some observed the 8 monastic precepts, meditated and listened to a Dhamma talk. We ended by sharing merit.
